Great News for Syncing.net Customers and iPhone Users

As you know, you can sync (Outlook and Files) with Syncing.net software in groups of up to 25 PCs at a time (and also daisy-chain additional groups of 25 PCs together, but that oultine is beyond the scope of this article - email us if you want to hear more). What we want to share now is how to have the additional benefit of a seamlessly synchronized iPhone to one of your Syncing.net sync groups.

Overview. Let's say you have Syncing.net Professional Edition synchronizing your Microsoft Outlook across multiple PCs -- we call this an Outlook Group. Now you take the iPhone and use Apple's application MobileMe to synchronize one of these computers (e.g. PC #1) to your iPhone. That's all. It's that easy and everyone can do this. You can do this. Read on for a detailed explanation with examples.

Let's break it down a bit further with an example. Using the conceptual graphic on the left, let's say a client's contact information is updated on PC #1. This update will then be synchronized across the whole Outlook Group and updated on every other PC. Now, the iPhone will need to be synchronized to only a single PC using MobileMe. As soon as the PC that is synced to the iPhone receives the client's updated information, then MobileMe's Push technology will take care of the iPhone. Likewise, if the update starts from the iPhone, it is MobileMe that will Push it to the PC and then our software will spread that change throughout the rest of the group.

The same scenario holds true for other smart phones. As long as they (e.g. the smart phones) have a viable sync technology to sync to a PC then our software will work simultaneously, effortlessly and as good as you're going to get at this price point. Hands down, we are the best solution for giving you the power you need to work in today's integrated, connected world.

1. Get the latest software.

Download and install the latest version of MobileMe Control Panel for Windows (v1.4 or later).
Follow onscreen instructions if necessary.

2. Sync your information with the MobileMe cloud.

From the Windows Start menu, open Control Panel and choose MobileMe, located in Network and Internet.
Sign in with your MobileMe member name and password.
Click the Sync tab. Select the “Sync with MobileMe” checkbox, and then choose Automatically for the fastest updates.
Select the Contacts, Calendars, and Bookmarks checkboxes, and then choose which applications to sync with.*
* Click the Sync Now button.

3. Set up your email software.

You can access your MobileMe email at www.me.com. You can also set up your desktop email program using the following instructions:
Outlook 2007 | Outlook 2003 If you already know how to set up your email program, use these settings:
- Account type: IMAP
- Incoming mail server: mail.me.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.me.com (requires authentication)

*About contacts and calendar syncing on Windows: MobileMe calendars sync with Microsoft Outlook 2003 or 2007 only. If you use Microsoft Outlook in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange Server, MobileMe will not sync your contacts or calendars with Outlook. Besides, you wouldn't use Syncing.net if you had an Exchange server.
