After installing SYNCING.NET 2.x I can no longer synchronize my mobile devices with Outlook
February 20, 2009
As long as SYNCING.NET 2.x is online and accessing the local Outlook PST-file, another synchronization tool may not be able to get access to the PST-file, too. To solve this effect, it may be necessary to completely deactivate SYNCING.NET 2.x through “syncservice.exe /close” during the synchronization process of the third party tool, not only to “Exit ” SYNCING.NET.
To create a shortcut which deactivates SYNCING.NET 2.x, please follow these steps:
1) start SYNCING.NET
2) right-click onto your “desktop”
3) choose “new”
4) choose “shortcut”
5) type “C:\Program Files\SYNCING.NET Technologies\SYNCING.NET\bin\SyncService.exe”
6) choose “finish”
7) double-click the new shortcut to completely close SYNCING.NET 2.x.
Now you should be able to access the PST-file through the third party synchronization tool.
Please mind that these changes to your local PST-file won’t be recognized and synchronized by SYNCING.NET automatically. To get these changes synchronized you need to restart SYNCING.NET first, then open the contact or appointment you’ve imported from the mobile device, do a small change and save it.
To restart SYNCING.NET 2.x you may choose Start->SYNCING.NET->SYNCING.NET or you may
create a second shortcut on your desktop. To do this please follow the above mentioned steps, but type /silent instead of /close during step 5).

The activation of my license keys is not possible. Why?
February 18, 2009
This can have different causes!
“This is not a valid key!” – The format of the license key is not correct. Please make sure there is no typing error and try again.
“Activation of that key is not possible!” – The license key does not exist. Please make sure there is no typing error. If the license key was typed in correctly, please send an e-mail to sales[at]syncing.net with the license key and your buying information (invoice number, date of purchase, name, e-mail address).
Please note!
The license keys of the old version SYNCING.NET for Outlook 1.25 and SYNCING.NET 2.0 are
not compatible! That means, you are only able to activate this version what the license keys are from. Please make sure which version you have installed first (SYNCING.NET “Help -> About SYNCING.NET”) and if your license keys are valid for this version. If you have still license keys from the old version SYNCING.NET for Outlook and you want to activate the new version SYNCING.NET 2.0, you can upgrade your licenses in our Onlineshop!
“Activation is not possible! Please make sure your Internet connection is working properly.” – Please check your Internet connection first. If there is a connection to the Internet, check your proxy and firewall settings. If you can’t fix the problem, please send an e-mail to support[at]syncing.net.
What is actually the meaning of the symbols red asterisk and Green circle?
February 18, 2009
The meaning of the symbols is the following:
The Green circle: This folder is synchronized from SYNCING.NET 2 as a part of a file or an Outlook network. The symbol is only visible on the main folder not on the subfolders.
Red asterisk: This symbol appears on all files, which were created or changed by another participant, respectively on all (sub) files, which contain such files. Thus it means; new/unread”. You can mark such folders/files over the Explorer context menu (right mouse click) as read. Then the asterisk disappears or — if it is a main folder of a file or an Outlook network, the symbol changes from the asterisk to the green circle

How can I also synchronize my archive folder and what do I have to observe?
February 16, 2009
If you are syncing your personal folder already and want to synchronize also your archive folder, you have to create a new SyncNetwork. That means you need the Business/Professional Edition. But, if you use the auto archive function from Outlook you have to deactivate this function on all computers without only one. This computer will auto archive your personal folder and because you are syncing both folders, the archived items will also archived on the other computers. If you don’t deactivate this function on the other computers, all computers will archive the same items and you will get duplicates in the archive folder.
What means the error message: ”SyncService.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services”?

This error message can have different causes:
1. The process performance counter can be disabled. Please look here: enable process performance counter.
2. If you are using SYNCING.NET 2.0 with Windows Vista, both processes “Outlook.exe” and “SyncService.exe” (that’s SYNCING.NET) will be started with different rights.
