What means the error message: ”SyncService.exe – Common Language Runtime Debugging Services”?

February 15, 2009

This error message can have different causes:

1. The process performance counter can be disabled. Please look here: enable process performance counter.

2. If you are using SYNCING.NET 2.0 with Windows Vista, both processes “Outlook.exe” and “SyncService.exe” (that’s SYNCING.NET) will be started with different rights.

Please exit SYNCING.NET 2.0 and find the file “SyncService.exe” located on “%programfiles%\SYNCING.NET Technologies\SYNCING.NET\bin\”, right click on it and select “Properties”. Then choose “Compatibility” and set the option: “Run as Administrator”. Now you can start Outlook and SYNCING.NET again. Click on the warning screen of User Access Control on “Allow” and SYNCING.NET 2.0 will start synchronizing.

    3. If you are using the old version SYNCING.NET for Outlook (1.25) with Windows Vista, it seams that both processes “Outlook.exe” and “SyncService.exe” (that’s SYNCING.NET for Outlook) blocks each other while acessing your PST-file. However, you can try this workaround:

    - If SYNCING.NET for Outlook is already running, please exit SYNCING.NET for Outlook via right click on the Tray icon in your Taskbar or via Task-Manager.

    - Then find the file “SyncService.exe” located on “%programfiles%\SYNCING.NET\SYNCING.NET for Outlook\bin\”, right click on it, select “Properties”, choose “Compatibility” and set the options: “Windows XP SP2″ and “Run as Administrator”.

    - Now you can start Outlook and SYNCING.NET will be launched. Click on the warning screen of User Access Control on “Allow” and SYNCING.NET for Outlook will start synchronizing.

    - Then open SYNCING.NET for Outlook by double clicking the symbol in your Taskbar and disable Auto Run from SYNCING.NET for Outlook (Configuration –> Options –> uncheck last).

    4. If this will not solve the problem, you should uninstall and reinstall SYNCING.NET. If the problem appears than again, please send us the log files from this Computer via SYNCING.NET for Outlook “Help” –> “Report a Problem“.
